Blue-Sky Printed Hoarding
Specified for how it looks along a street. The panel is a 2.5×6 m unit, and the face is split into two 480 mm bands: a printed colour-steel upper band carrying the blue-sky graphic, over a green louvred perforated lower band. A 60 mm U-section caps the top of the run, and the posts are half-round shaped sections with a concealed post behind the joint — fewer, larger posts, and a face that reads as one calm band.
On this page: why the 6 m panel changes everything else (01), the published panel, post, band and cap figures (02), what the two bands do separately (03), the artwork and band split that stay on the order (04), packing, price and delivery (05), and four questions answered from this page (06).
A six-metre panel sets the whole design
The 2.5×6 m panel is the figure that shapes everything else. A six-metre-long, two-and-a-half-metre-high unit cannot be carried on a dense line of small posts, so it is carried on shaped posts with a concealed post behind the joint instead — and that is precisely why this hoarding looks calmer than a panel-and-post site fence. Fewer posts, wider bays, one uninterrupted face.
The concealed post, 80×80×0.9 mm, sits behind the joint between panels and keeps the printed face flush, so the seam is not a feature of the frontage. The 60 mm U-section cap closes the top edge, which is what makes the panel line read as a single continuous band rather than as a row of separate sheets.
The two bands do two jobs. The printed upper band is the visible graphic; the green louvred lower band is perforated, so the bottom of the face ventilates while the top carries the image. That combination is what lets a long public-street frontage be closed without becoming a blank wall — and where the frontage needs a plain, solid face instead, the municipal hoarding is the heavier product; where the whole face is perforated, the perforated hoarding is the alternative.
Blue-sky printed hoarding — panel, posts and bands
The panel size, the post types, both band heights and the cap are published. Post spacing and the total length of the run are not: the panel module is fixed, and how far apart the posts stand along your frontage is confirmed on the order drawing.

What the two bands and the cap give you
- A printed upper band. A 480 mm colour-steel panel carrying the blue-sky graphic — the part of the hoarding that is actually looked at.
- A ventilating lower band. A 480 mm green louvred perforated panel, so the base of the face passes air rather than sealing it.
- A six-metre module. A 2.5×6 m panel that reduces the number of posts along a frontage and gives a calmer line.
- Half-round shaped posts. With an 80×80×0.9 mm concealed post behind the panel joint, keeping the face flush.
- A closed top edge. A 60 mm U-section cap, so the run reads as one continuous band.
- Artwork cut with the bands. The graphic and the split between the two bands are agreed together, because the printed panel is cut to the artwork.
- A presentable boundary. Specified for long public-street frontages and city sites, not for a compound behind a gate.
The artwork and the band split are the order
Tell us the total run length, the height, the ground fixing, the printed artwork and the band split, and the post spacing, panel layout, cap detail and packing are confirmed as one specification. The published lower band is green; if a project needs a different graphic or a different split between the bands, that is confirmed on the order rather than assumed, because the printed artwork and the band heights are cut together.
This is the one product in the family where a design change is also a production change, so it is worth being explicit. Artwork supplied as a file, with the band split stated in millimetres and the colour reference named, is a drawing we can confirm. Artwork described in conversation is a question we will have to send back — and a six-metre printed panel is an expensive thing to discover a misunderstanding in.
Printed faces stacked and separated
Printed panels are stacked and separated so the printed face is not marked, and posts, concealed posts, caps and fittings are bundled by type. This is the one hoarding in the family where the packing is judged by the face rather than by the bundle: a print that has rubbed in transit cannot be repaired on site. Banding, pallets and the exact bundle layout are confirmed per specification with the loading plan.

Four questions, answered from this page
- What size is the panel?
- 2.5×6 m, as published, carried on half-round shaped posts with an 80×80×0.9 mm concealed post behind the panel joint.
- What are the two bands?
- A 480 mm printed colour-steel upper panel carrying the blue-sky graphic, over a 480 mm green louvred perforated lower panel, with a 60 mm U-section cap on top.
- Which band ventilates?
- The lower one. It is a green louvred perforated panel, so the base of the face passes air while the upper band carries the printed image.
- Can the graphic or the band split change?
- Yes, agreed per order. The blue-sky graphic and the split between the two bands are confirmed together, because the printed panel is cut to the artwork.
- What post spacing is published?
- None. The panel is published at 2.5×6 m; tell us the total run length and the ground condition, and post spacing is confirmed on the order drawing.
