Perforated Hoarding

A hoarding that is not quite solid, on purpose. The face is a 1200×2000 mm galvanised sheet, perforated at Φ10 mm, carried on steel tube supports and finished by electrostatic spray. Wind passes through the face instead of loading it, and daylight reaches the works behind it — so the boundary screens a site without turning into a wall. The site behind is partly visible from the street, and that is the decision the product makes.

On this page: when a perforated face is the right answer (01), the published panel, sheet, perforation and support figures (02), what the perforations and the coating give you (03), how a mixed run is specified (04), packing, price and delivery (05), and four questions answered from this page (06).

Overview

A face that lets air and light through

Some boundaries do not want to be a wall. A perforated face answers three site problems at once: wind loading on the hoarding is reduced because air passes through rather than pressing on a sealed panel; daylight reaches the works behind, which matters on a narrow street or a shaded frontage; and the hoarding reads as lighter than a solid run of sheet.

The trade is visibility. A perforated face means the site behind can be seen from the street, in outline if not in detail, and that is a design decision rather than a defect. It is why the product is usually specified as part of a mixed run: solid hoarding where the works must not be seen, perforated panels on the faces that need air or daylight. Which part of the run is which is confirmed on the drawing rather than assumed.

In the family it sits between the sealed products and the open ones. The municipal hoarding is the heavy solid frontage; the colour-steel hoarding is the light sealed panel; this is the face that breathes. Where the site wants colour more than ventilation, the PVC hoarding takes that role.

Technical specification

Perforated hoarding — panel, sheet and support

The panel module, the sheet thickness range, the perforation diameter, the support wall and the finish are all published. Run height and support spacing are not: the panel is a 1200×2000 mm unit, and how high and how far apart the supports stand is confirmed on the order drawing.

Specification
Product / model referencePerforated hoarding — perforated galvanised panel hoarding on steel tube supports. Quoted against your requirement; no catalogue model number is issued until the requirement is agreed.
Panel (板材)1200×2000 mm galvanised sheet.
Sheet thickness (厚度)0.5–0.8 mm.
Perforation (孔径)Φ10 mm.
Support (钢管支撑)Steel tube, 0.7 mm wall.
Finish (表面)Electrostatic spray coating, multiple colours. The colour is chosen on the order.
Run height and support spacingNot published by the manufacturer as fixed figures. The panel is published at 1200×2000 mm; tell us the height the run must reach and the ground condition, and support spacing and the panel layout are confirmed on the order drawing.
PackingPerforated panels are stacked and separated, and supports and fittings are bundled by type for shipping; banding, pallets and the exact bundle layout are confirmed per specification with the loading plan.
Features

What the perforations and the coating give you

  • Wind passes through. Air moves through the Φ10 mm perforations instead of pressing on a sealed face, which is why a perforated run behaves differently in exposure.
  • Daylight reaches the works. Useful on a narrow street or a shaded frontage where a solid hoarding would darken the site behind.
  • A published panel module. 1200×2000 mm, a two-metre-high unit that a small crew can carry and set.
  • A sheet range for the exposure. 0.5–0.8 mm galvanised sheet, with a steel tube support at 0.7 mm wall behind it.
  • A sprayed finish in colour. Electrostatic spray coating in multiple colours, chosen on the order rather than taken from stock.
  • A lighter boundary. The run reads as a screen rather than as a wall, which is often the point on a public frontage.
  • Mixed runs. Perforated panels can share a boundary with solid hoarding, with each part confirmed on the drawing.
Made to project specification

Mixed runs, height and the ground fixing

Tell us the total run length, the height, the ground fixing, the colour and which parts of the boundary are perforated, and the panel layout, support spacing, coating and packing are confirmed as one specification. That list is not a formality: the height the run must reach and the ground condition are exactly what the published figures do not cover, so they are the two that come back on the order drawing.

A mixed run is the normal case rather than the exception. Solid hoarding hides a compound; perforated panels ventilate a service shaft, light a basement works or soften a long frontage. We confirm which part of the run is which on the drawing, because the answer changes the support spacing as well as the panel.

Packing, price and delivery

Panels stacked and separated

Perforated panels are stacked and separated, and supports and fittings are bundled by type for shipping. Separation matters more here than on a solid sheet: a perforated face is easily marked, and a stack that rubs in transit shows every contact point once it is up. Banding, pallets and the exact bundle layout are confirmed per specification with the loading plan.

Questions

Four questions, answered from this page

Why use a perforated face instead of a solid one?
Because air passes through the perforations instead of loading a sealed panel, and daylight reaches the works behind. The trade is that the site is partly visible from the street.
What panel and perforation are published?
A 1200×2000 mm galvanised sheet, 0.5–0.8 mm thick, perforated at Φ10 mm, on a steel tube support with a 0.7 mm wall.
How high can the run be?
The panel module is published at 1200×2000 mm. Run height and support spacing are not fixed figures; they are confirmed on the order drawing from the height the run must reach and the ground condition.
Can only part of the run be perforated?
Yes. A mixed run is normal — solid hoarding where the works must not be seen, perforated panels where air or daylight is wanted. Which part is which is confirmed on the drawing.
What finish and colour?
Electrostatic spray coating in multiple colours, with the colour chosen on the order.
