Municipal Hoarding
The heavy hoarding, for the frontage that is looked at every day for a year. A deep galvanised post at each station, a concealed post hidden inside the face, a two-band panel in white over grey and a square-tube brace behind it: that is the structure a city street, a road, drainage or metro works site gets when the hoarding has to stay orderly rather than merely stand up. It is bolted down, so it comes up again without cutting the run.
On this page: how the post, the concealed post and the two-band face work together (01), the published post, panel and brace figures (02), what the structure and the plain face give you (03), what the run and the ground fix (04), packing, price and delivery (05), and four questions answered from this page (06).
A deep post, a hidden post, and a plain face
Three parts carry this hoarding. The first is the post itself, a 220×300×0.9 mm galvanised tube whose depth is what gives a long unsupported run its stiffness. The second is the concealed post, 80×80×1.0 mm galvanised tube, set behind the panel face at the joint between panels: it holds that joint and keeps the visible face flush, so the run reads as a continuous band rather than a series of panels. The third is the 50×50×0.9 mm square-tube brace, propping the run from the works side.
The face is deliberately plain: a 480 mm white panel over a 400 mm grey panel. That two-band arrangement is the common municipal pattern, and a plain face is also the blank surface a contractor or a city authority uses for project signage, safety notices and printed graphics. Because the bands are a standard height, a run can be extended, shortened or carried to the next contract by re-using posts and panels instead of ordering a new hoarding.
Its place in the family is the long frontage. Where the hoarding has to move with the job, the lighter colour-steel hoarding slides its panel into a slot and comes down in whole panels; where the face has to let wind and light through, the perforated hoarding does that instead.
Municipal hoarding — post, panel, brace and fittings
Every section and sheet thickness is published, down to the concealed post and the brace. Run height and post spacing are not: the manufacturer publishes no fixed figures for them, so they are confirmed on the order drawing against the site.

What the structure and the plain face give you
- A deep post for a long span. The 220×300×0.9 mm galvanised tube is what carries the run over long, unsupported stretches.
- A flush face. The 80×80×1.0 mm concealed post sits behind the joint, so the visible band stays continuous.
- A braced line. A 50×50×0.9 mm square-tube brace props the run from the works side.
- A two-band face. 480 mm white over 400 mm grey — the common municipal pattern, and a blank surface for signage and notices.
- Bolted, not cast in. Flange plate and expansion bolts fix the hoarding to a concrete or paved surface, so it comes up again.
- Reusable by module. A standard band height means a run can be extended, shortened or carried to the next contract by re-using posts and panels.
- Galvanised as published. The steel is galvanised; the face is white and grey, and printed graphics are agreed per order.
Height, ground, wind and face
Four questions decide a hoarding order, and all four are answered by the site rather than by a catalogue. How tall the run must be. What the ground can accept as a fixing — a flange plate and expansion bolts suit a concrete or paved surface, and something else is needed where there is neither. What wind the site is exposed to, which sets the post spacing and the brace positions along with the height. And whether the face stays plain or takes printed panels.
Answer those and give the site length, and the post spacing, panel band height, finish and packing are confirmed as one specification on the order drawing. The published sections never change; what changes is how far apart the posts stand and how the run is braced, which is why those two figures are the ones left to the drawing.
Bundled by type, so the run assembles
Panels, posts, concealed posts, braces and fittings are bundled by type for shipping, so a bundle can be opened on site and identified without guessing. Banding, pallets and the exact bundle layout are confirmed per specification with the loading plan, because a hoarding is a set of parts that only works if the parts arrive together.

Four questions, answered from this page
- What sections is it built from?
- Post 220×300×0.9 mm galvanised tube, concealed post 80×80×1.0 mm galvanised tube behind the panel joint, panel 480 mm white over 400 mm grey, brace 50×50×0.9 mm square tube, with flange plate and expansion bolt fittings.
- How is it fixed down?
- On a flange plate with expansion bolts, so it is bolted to a concrete or paved surface rather than cast into it — which is also why it can be taken up and re-used.
- What height and post spacing are published?
- Neither is published as a fixed figure. Tell us the height you need and the ground condition, and post spacing and brace positions are confirmed on the order drawing.
- Can the face carry graphics?
- Yes. The face is white and grey as published, and printed or project-specific graphics are agreed per order.
- Is it reusable on the next contract?
- Yes. The bands are a standard height and the sections are standard, so a run can be extended, shortened or carried to the next contract by re-using posts and panels.
